Are Health Laws Created To Save Our Health Or For Governments To Make Money

Are we being “protected to death” or are governments getting richer?

Everyone knows that it’s a no-no to smoke tobacco and yet, while Canada and many of the U.S. states are or have already put into place, No Smoking Regulations in nearly every conceivable public venue, many are also legalizing the use of marijuana.

While trying to save us from harming ourselves (aka a tax grab), federal or state governments are rushing to the start line in legalizing weed, marijuana or pot. It’s hard to see these moves as anything other than what they present themselves as, a tax grab or investment opportunity by which governments can tax the heck out of these things. It’s less about the health of the consumer than it is about the dollars and cents that all governments will obviously benefit from.

How can I say such a thing? Aren’t I blasphemous? We all know that tobacco smoking is bad and marijuana has health benefits, right? Hmmmm…

I recently attended a wedding where smokers were required to hit the great outdoors. That included weed smokers as well, vaped or smoked. On one side were the tobacco smokers and the other side held places for those who smoked weed. Both of these spots were self-imposed as no lines were drawn. It was an open field for all smokers and yet, there it was, divided by tobacco and weed. I had to give my head a shake.

Meanwhile, not only were the weed smokers out there, getting hits from both a cigarette legally but, also getting “high” as they called it at the same time. In other words, it was akin to standing out there with a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Yes, I know that you want to recite the mantra that all weed smokers (vaped, medicinal or smoked) want to chant and spew out but, that’s not the point that I’m trying to make here.

A gentleman coming through the glass doors towards the smokers of both, was stopped at the door by a security guard and told to leave his drink in a plastic cup at the door. In other words, it was illegal for him to bring that mouthful or two of alcohol out and into an area where people were out there, stoned out of their heads and whooping it up. After arguing a bit with the guard, he relented, set down his drink and proceeded outdoors to have a few puffs of his cigarette, putting it out when the morons who were already drunk, high and smoking cigarettes (tobacco) started with the giggles and lit up joints that had the smell of a skunk. That was also the point at which I also decided it was my exit or re-entrance point as well though I was doing neither. I hadn’t even had a drop of alcohol. Yet, the wafting skunk smell followed us indoors and lingered in the lobby and within our clothes and hair with people inside, plugging their nostrils in a pee-eww fashion. The reality was that there were more weed smokers than there were tobacco smokers and, that included the closeted weed users who didn’t dare smoke it lest Auntie Bon-Bon or Grandpa Lace Boot found out that they used it at all.

Now enter the alcohol drinkers who fall down stairs, the radicalized mental health idiots who mow down crowds of people in the name of Allah, the gun toters who would rather their front teeth be removed before their guns and, so much more that the governments cannot protect the public against. What we have here is Cherry Picking Help.

It’s not that the debate can be made against the damages that tobacco smoking can do to both the smoker as well as second-hand inhalers but, it’s the idea that there are far faster deadly ways to die than that which the governments of the world aren’t even attempting to protect us against. One would need 3 or 4 blogs to fill full of what isn’t being done, including having enough doctors and hospital beds, affordable health insurances, in-home help for the disabled or aging populations, mental health facilities or even research into the most prevalent of diseases with advancements in treatment options. The list could go on and on but, suffice it to say that there’s no money in it nor, the financial benefit to it all for the powers that be in order to have them deal with it all.

That all said, how likely is it that these new laws that are being put into place or taken away, are solely for the purpose of protecting us and, how much of it is because there’s a financial gain to be had from it or even saved from it? I can wait for you to answer it for yourself but, let me give you a hint here. It’s more to do with dollars and cents otherwise, more would be dealt with by now.

From my little corner of life to yours, if you believe that the governments of North America are passing laws or taking them away to protect you and your health solely, I have a piece of swamp land that I’d like to sell you. I say that with a tongue in cheek laugh because there are as many people who truly believe the propaganda that is being shot out of these official’s mouths as there are people who can see right through it. Of course, you are totally free to believe whatever you wish. I am not here to stop you from your belief in any way.

Be well. Love and Light,

Have a GREAT day or evening whenever you are reading this.
