There are days when I sit here in front of a blank screen page and wonder why the heck I’m writing anything. That’s especially true when there are such few readers for the pieces that I do put up. It’s even more apparent that after writing a blog for 7 years, the stats are so low that it’s hardly worth writing any further. Who am I really reaching and has anyone truly read much of what I’ve written?
Then, the odd commenter makes a comment that makes me shake my head, wake up and realize that I started this blog for a reason. Though I don’t make a cent on anything that I write and oftentimes, spend a great deal of time, researching myself into a tizzy, I do all of it because I wanted to do it. There was no goal or aim other than giving to those who wish to receive something from their time in reading my writing.
Of course, there are those days when someone is so negative in their commenting that I literally want to shut this all down. The next day or day after that, I get a comment that is worth every second of my time in both researching and writing. I realize that I’ve actually touched someone in some way and that’s what I had intended on doing. Even the negative commenters, even if only because they wish to vent something or other, are showing that what I’ve written has touched them in some way or another. That means that I’ve gotten through to them in one area or another even if we have to agree that we disagree on one, if not many areas. That’s meant to say that unless it’s purely swearing and ranting in a unpublishable fashion. Those are the ones that don’t get published for obvious reasons and let’s face it, there are always those that come into play for any writer.
Whether or not someone is retired or working, going to school or taking care of 10 kids, the fact is that time is precious to many of us. Our time, energy and efforts are worth something to us. Everyone is always learning something, myself included here as well. I learn from everyone who takes their time to comment as well as my research into pieces that I write can also change how I think about things. Again, we’re all, always learning something until our brains simply won’t function anymore to learn.
From my little corner of life to yours, while I may change up the format as well as the topics that I write pieces upon, I will likely keep up writing in some way or another. It’s who I am and it all teaches me something or in some way.
Be well, Love and Light,
Have a GREAT day or evening!
